A New Jewish Boy

Today, on April 11, 2009--Nissan 17, 5769 (my eldest son's 10th Jewish birthday) my nephew, son of Efrayim and Maya, was born.

He weighed in at 3225 grams and is 55 cm long. He was born at 36 weeks 4 days, and both mom and son are doing really well.

So now we are off to prepare for the brit milah (aka. bris) in a week's time!

It is customary to have a copy of the Shir Hamaalos (Psalm 121) in the delivery room and afterwards in the crib of the newborn, signifying that their Jewish education starts at birth. Below is the version that this new Jewish boy has in his crib.
