Off to Eilat... almost!

So this morning Kevin and I went to pick the infamous Nathan and his little brother Micah up at the airport.

Nathan is one of my oldest, if not my oldest friend. He was my roommate at the pediatric oncology unit back in NY, and since then we kept in touch. He is a year older than me, a flamboyant, loud gay son of an Orthodox Jewish chazzan (cantor) from NYC, an IT engineer by day, a drag queen by night. He is the second of six boys and two girls, the eldest boy. Micah, at age 16, is the youngest boy. He is the polar opposite of Nathan when it comes to flamboyance and loudness: a shy, bookish yet athletic teenager, whose preferences for universities are Harvard, Yale, Yeshiva University.

Nathan gets a kick out of the fact that he shares his Hebrew name with two of my sons: Natan Chai: Chai is my eldest's, Natan is Justin's Hebrew name.

Monday morning we are heading down to Eilat for 3 days. We are leaving at the crack of dawn and will be coming back Thursday late in the evening. It should be a lot of fun, and I hope Micah will enjoy his time there. I can't wait to see Grandpa and Grandma, and to just do nothing for a while. Room service, here I come!

  4. Well, there are more reasons for it. He is the kind of guy who makes Aunt Maude and Aunt Perla gasp! Also, he has been turned into a pink uniko on (fluff)Friends.
