The Christmas dilemma

As you all know, we don't celebrate Christmas, but both Kevin and I have family, who do. There is the whole Catholic O'Brien clan, and Kevin's huge Mormon family. So we cannot completely ignore Christmas - even if some of our families disrespect our religion - and, to be honest, we don't want to.

Yet, I am not 100% sure how to approach it this year. Due to the scandal two Christmases ago my family refuses to take part in the O'Brien gift swap, and to be honest, there are just way  too many relatives out there to gift everyone. Sending an e-card seems impersonal and cheap. I am thinking about handmade cards, but I have no idea when we will have time for that. We are talking about cca. 40 cards here! What to do, what to do?

  2. What about having a family picture turned into a Christmas card, so everybody gets a picture to frame?

  3. Katheryne, I think I wrote about the scandal that broke out due to my cousin Ella giving me a long and expensive list of EXACTLY what i should buy for her family, while cinfiding in my sister that she is not getting my kids anything as we don't do Christmas and Chanukkah is not a holiday she'd celebrate.

Christie, we did the picture thing one year, and wasn't very popular.

  4. Kids and crayons. 40 individual Christmas cards. :)
Then you and Kevin can just mail them off. :)
    Hugs, Jon
