I am 100% sure that your blog rocks! As a matter of fact, I think there are a lot of lesser known and unappreciated blogs out there. Our blogs need a little love and attention, and what better way to get some exposure but through some competition!
Your Blog Rocks! is hosted at http://kosherkola.com/blogsrock, to make it accessible to everyone whether they blog under their own domain or on a site like Xanga or LiveJournal. You can read the current list of categories there, and till June 17 you are welcome to suggest new categories! Any category with at least 5 nominations will be in the final voting.
So what do you need to do to enter? Find the appropriate category in which you think your blog best fits, and leave a comment on that page with your blog's link and a brief description, no longer than 50 words. If you would like to use an image other than your blog's screenshot, please email it to hevel at kosherkola dot com.
You can also nominate blogs that you like to read. It would be nice to get the approval of the blog owners beforehand, but we will contact them to confirm they allow their blog(s) to participate.
If you feel like your blog fits more than one category, you can nominate it in up to 3 categories.
What are the requirements? Your blog has to be public, at least in part. It also has to ethical: no spam, no stolen content, and alas, no explicit sexual content. You also have to be at least 18 years old. By nominating your own blog, you actually agree and admit the above.
Nomination is open till June 20. As blogs are entered, the category pages will be updated with the pictures and descriptions. On June 22 the pages will be updated with the polls, and voting will be open till July 1. That date is only tentative at this point. Depending on the number of blogs in a given category, the top, top 3, top 5 or top 10 blogs will be declared winners.
What will you win? Other than officially knowing that your blog rocks, you will get a little graphical confirmation that you won. Regional prices, as volunteered by other bloggers, might actually happen.
The Bonus Competition! Part of the reason for this competition is just having fun and getting to know other bloggers. So there will be two more cute graphics available to anyone, who fullfills the requirements: "I commented on all the blogs in a category" and "I commented on all the blogs in the competition!". Be aware that it only counts if your comment is relevant to the post it's left on, and not just shameless self promoting. We don't want to encourage spam. This we won't be able to measure, so we count on your honesty in telling us when you are done. :) This one will be open till the end of July, to give everyone enough time to read and comment!
